Welcome to Musicians Media Source, a site created to help classical musicians, ensembles and composers reach the most important media outlets in North America. Our focus is on newspaper, magazine and online critics/reviewers, and classical radio stations. No other resource will give you the direct connections to these outlets—the places and people that need to have your recordings or know where and when you are performing—with the completeness or accuracy of Musicians Media Source. Our lists include over 500 contacts at these classical media sources and they are continually being updated to ensure that you will reach the correct person at the correct address. We also can offer you valuable advice on how to best package and send your materials to these media outlets and how to follow up after you send them.

Here is what Musicians Media Source can do for you:

1) We provide you with up-to-date, ready-to-mail, self-adhesive labels, of virtually every North American radio station that plays classical music, including FM, online and satellite stations. The lists include the name of the music and/or program directors at the station. These are the people who decide what to play on the station in general or on a particular program. Also, if you or your ensemble specialize in new music, early music, etc., or if you are a composer, we will include—at no extra charge—radio programs which specialize in your particular musical area. In addition, we can provide you with a list of email addresses so you may follow-up after your mailing, check to make sure the station has received your materials and inform them of upcoming performances, recent reviews or other news about you or your ensemble.

2) We provide you with up-to-date lists, printed on ready-to-mail, self-adhesive labels, of classical music reviewers and critics from the US, Canada and Great Britain that is second to none. They include critics at newspapers, magazines, online publications and even a number of freelance writers. The lists can also be customized to target your particular focus. As with the radio list, if you or your ensemble specialize in new music, early music, etc., or if you are a composer, we will include—at no extra charge—magazines, journals or online sites which specialize in your particular musical area. We can also provide you with email addresses to follow-up on your mailings and keep writers informed about performances and other activities.

3) We offer you important advice on presenting and sending your materials: how to package them for the best possible impression, a list of dos and don'ts on how to write your publicity, and the best way to follow up with the various media. We give you several pages of advice directly from radio programmers and music critics—actual quotes—on how to send your materials and what they do and do not like to receive. This is vital information which gives your music the best chance of being reviewed or played on the air. Without it, your music can easily be overlooked—no matter how high the quality.
